Establishment of the Maharashtra Jain Sahitya Parishad – 4th June 1984
In order to promote Jain literature and encourage and provide a platform for new and budding writers, the Bhattarak established the Maharashtra Jain Sahitya Parishad at the Shri Lakshmisen Matha on Shrutpanchami day, ie. 4th June 1984, along with several scholars and litterateurs. The first Jain Sahitya Sammelan was organized which he presided in June 1986 at the Matha premises. After that , such conferences were also held at Solapur, Pune, Nipani, Sangli, Kolhapur, Jaisingpur, Shravanbelagola, Faltan, Ichalkaranji, Bahubali, Podanpur-Mumbai, Miraj, Usmanabad, Akluj and Aurangabad. This Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Jain Sahitya Sammelan has been organized with much fanfare and enthusiasm which is an achievement in itself. It also started the tradition to award authors who contribute in Jain Marathi Literature with a cash prize which is sponsored by stalwarts from the community. A ‘Kannada Jain Sahitya Parishad’ was established in 1985 at Raibag which has also organized 5 conferences till date.

Akhand Namokar Mantra Jaap on 31st December
Many people spend the last day of the calendar year amidst song and dance festivities, consuming forbidden products and welcome the new year with intoxication. The Matha has started the tradition of clocking in the new year through a non-stop recitation of the Namokar Mantra from 31st December onwards from 9.00 a.m. for 24 hours. The devotees thus wish everyone a real happy new year.
In this manner, the Poojya Bhattarak has been instrumental in furthering the cause of religious, social, cultural, educational, literary fields, etc. through his guidance which is sure to be continued in the days to come. No wonder he has rightly been bestowed with the titles of ‘Bhattarakratna’, Shantmurti, Dharmadiwakar, Sanhitasoori, Jagadguru, Sanskruti Sanrakshak, etc. He has travelled abroad thrice to spread the word of the ancient religion. We wholeheartedly believe that all the fields will immensely benefit through the guidance and leadership of Shri Lakshmisen Bhattarak Pattacharya Mahaswamiji’
